With 3D Ripper DX you can
- capture all geometry, textures and shaders, rendered during single frame
- import captured geometry into Max
- see what exactly has been drawn by each individual draw call
- see renderstate, textures, vertex streams, index stream, vertex declaration, vertex and pixel shaders (including HLSL source if available) of each individual draw call.

3D Ripper DX supports only DirectX 6.x, 8.x and 9.x applications. OpenGL, older versions of DirectX and software renderers are not supported.

Panda DX Exporter gives Max users the ability to export to .X files with as much information as possible about the objects in a scene. Because it uses the Max internal structures it can retrieve all the information available and is not limited by the export to a 3DS file.

The TGXExportGA (Generally Available) allows artists using Max to export their artwork into a TGX file, the format used by the TiburonGX game engine.

The plugin allows bone exporting straight from Max without the use of Character Studio, as well as exporting in Ticks or Keyframes. Using Microsoft's DirectX file format, artists can view their artwork in a '.x' file viewer or any ASCII text file application.

The XFrog Plugin for Max is a combination of procedural object and importer plugin which enables Max to import XFrog *.XFR files. After import the model should show up in your viewports fully textured. The importer inserts a procedural object which reads the data from the file you indicated and creates the geometry inside Max. It also creates a multi-sub material containing the original surfacing information from the XFrog file. The material can be freely edited once it has been created.

Xfrog is a popular solution for modeling trees, plants, and many other organic forms. For more information on XFrog, go here. There are also over 1000 plant models available in the XfrogPlants libraries, which are commercial, but not very expensive.
