The VirtuaLight VIB Exporter allows you to export your scene directly from Max to the VIB format used by the VirtuaLight GI Renderer. The plugin supports export of scene files (*.VIB), shader files (*.VS) and geometry (*.MSH).

The following features are supported:
- Colours and bitmaps can be used for the background.
- All objects are converted to VirtuaLight binary meshes.
- UV mapping supported.
- Smoothing groups are NOT yet supported.
- Target spots and omni lights are supported.
- If no lights are in the scene, Sunlight and Skylight are automatically added.
- Target cameras are supported. Free cameras must be changed to target cameras before exporting.
- Particle systems are NOT supported at present.
- Standard materials are supported.
- Diffuse, reflection, opacity and bump maps are exported.
- Bitmaps and AVI mappings are supported.
- Procedural textures are supported.
- Blinn and Phong shaders are supported, all other get converted to Cook.

VirtuaLight for Max is a plugin that generates VIB scene files and shader files that can be rendered with the VirtuaLight renderer. It comes with a number of additional texture and object plugins that allow you to make full use of the renderers features.

Although the plugin looks like a normal render plugin, you still need to have VirtuaLight (at least version 1.2) installed. You can download the renderer here.

Panda DX Exporter gives Max users the ability to export to .X files with as much information as possible about the objects in a scene. Because it uses the Max internal structures it can retrieve all the information available and is not limited by the export to a 3DS file.

CrossSection Object is the object equivalent of the CrossSection Modifier. Basically you create a bunch of splines that you want to use as cross sections. You then create a CrossSection Object and press the Add button, which allows you to select the splines that you want to skin.
