Site News: CGUser.com stole my database...

I've been trying to get this sorted out since last year, and no matter how many times I send emails to this guy, nothing happens. About a year ago I noticed that cguser.com had a great plugin listing on their site, and then I realised why it was so great... It was mine, including all of the spelling mistakes!

So I sent off an email asking why they had copied my database, and got a reply that they were ever so sorry, but they had bought the database from someone (yeah, of course they did), and had completely forgotten who this person was (what a surprise!). I told them that if they had asked if they could use the database, we could probably have sorted something out, but I was now completely pissed off. They promised to alter the content so it was no longer a direct copy, and to link to my site so people knew where it originally came from.

That was October last year, and guess what? Nothing has changed. No link, no changes to the database, nothing. Sending them emails doesn't seem to do any good, they just don't bother answering. It's not like I'm losing any money or anything, I run this site out of my own pocket, but I've invested a huge amount of time over the years, and I hate seeing my work ripped off. If anyone has any ideas what I could do next, please let me know.

Site News: The PayPal button...

If you find the site useful, and would like to contribute to keeping it going, feel free to click on the button. It will be much appreciated! Dave.

New Plugin: Import / Export

This plugin allows you to export scenes to the real-time player RE3DPlayer. The RE3DPlugIn allows you to assign physical properties to objects such as mass, friction etc. Furthermore you can join objects using physical constraints such as a ball joint or a hinge joint. In addition to the physics you can also integrate user-interaction to the scenes, allowing you to conrol objects using the keyboard or a joystick.

At the moment the site (and the plugin) is only in German, but there is an English version on the way.

RE3DPlugIn is available for Max 7 to 9 and costs €149 ( Standard version) or €349 (Professional version). A demo version is available here.
